Willow Class
Year 2 Willow Class
Welcome to Willow Class! Willow Class are taught by Miss Scott and supported by Miss Angie. In Year 2, the children will develop confidence in key concepts as they work towards the end of Key Stage 1. The children will develop a range of skills across the curriculum.
Key Information:
Reading:
Children are expected to read for 15 minutes every day. Parents and carers need to record when their child has read in their reading records. Children will take books home from school each week to read which are suited to their attainment.
Spellings:
Spellings are set each week and can be found in children's spelling books and on our Google Classroom. Children will need to practice their spellings at home. This includes writing a sentence for each spelling in their spelling books. The children will be tested on their spellings each Friday.
Homework:
Children will complete Maths homework each week matched to what they have been learning in class. The homework will be set on Fridays and due in on Thursdays. Homework can be found on our Google Classroom.
Times Tables:
In Year 2, the children will learn the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. The children will have regular times table quizzes in class to assess their progress. Children can practice times tables at home through playing Hit the Button.
PE:
Children have PE on Tuesdays and will develop a range of skills throughout the year during PE lessons. PE kits must be bought into school on Tuesdays. The St Faith's PE kit consists of a white t-shirt, black or green shorts or joggers and suitable foot wear (trainers or plimsolls).
