Learning Together, For All to Succeed

Apple Class - Nursery

Nursery children are taught by Miss Thomas and are supported in their learning by Miss Angela.

The class is made up of children aged three and four. The role of the teacher is to continually inspire and motivate the children through purposely planned, play based learning opportunities which are linked to children`s needs, interests and EYFS Curriculum.

We strongly believe that every child is a unique individual needing sensitive and appropriate support to develop and reach their optimal learning potential. We recognise the value of personal and emotional development, early years social skills as well as independence and confidence as vital aspects to a holistic approach to Early Years Foundation Stage education.

The teaching assistants work with specific groups both in and out of class to provide additional support both for all abilities.

If you have any quick queries, please feel free to catch me at the start or end of the school day. However, if there is anything you wish to discuss at greater length, please do let me know and we can arrange a suitable time.

The school day begins promptly at 8.40 and the gates are closed between 8:45am and 2.50pm. If you visit the school during these hours, please use buzzer entry by the gate to the side of the car park. By doing this we can ensure the children are in a safe environment during the school day. Should you need to collect your child for an appointment, please to come to the office and sign your child out whilst a member of staff collects them from the classroom.

The school office is open between 8.30am until 3.40pm to assist you with any queries.

When collecting and dropping your child at school, punctuality is really important. Being late can result in causing distress to your child and interrupts their learning. Should there are repeated and/ or unexplained late collections you will be asked to meet with the Headteacher so that any issues can be resolved.
