Reporting to Parents
At the beginning of the school year we have a short meeting at the start of the school day with a time for parents to ‘Meet the Teacher’ and to discuss the learning and expectations for the year. This is an opportunity when we explain what the expectations are for attendance, behaviour, homework and the pupil’s learning. At this meeting we give parents: the Home School Agreement, an explanation of the National Curriculum Levels and a booklet of the expectations for each year group.
We also hold three parent consultations each year. The first is early in the Autumn Term and is an opportunity for parents to ask any questions and for the teacher to share the results of the initial assessments in reading, writing and mathematics. The second is held in the Spring Term where there is the chance for a more in depth discussion about your child’s progress and needs. The third consultation is an opportunity to discuss the final written report.
We try to see all parents during these consultations and offer a ten minute appointment. Parents are welcome to make a follow-up appointment where necessary. If there is any time during the year you wish to talk with a member of my team, please make an appointment.
