With an Australian Headteacher, it is hardly surprising that Sport is high on the priority list at St Faith’s.
As well as having a Sports Specialist in school full time to teach a range of different sports across all year groups, we also are fortunate to have the company ‘Fit for Sport’ support a range of teaching during playtimes and after school.
During playtimes, children are encouraged to engage in team activities and games to promote agility, team play and general levels of fitness. They have the opportunity to try sports such as table tennis, hockey, basketball as well other playground style games using a parachute, cones, beanbags etc. This also has the added benefit of social inclusion and mixes up pupils from different classes and abilities.
Fit for Sport also offer a range of after school clubs to encourage children to enjoy a wide variety of sport to enable every child to find their own niche and fulfil their sporting potential.
Towards the end of the Summer Term, there is much fun and celebration during our two Sport’s Days. Families are invited to attend and support their children in a range of team and individual events which allow every child to feel proud of their achievements.
