Year 3 are taught by Mr Effrat and supported by Heather.
The class is made up of 26 children aged 7 and 8. Year 3 is a transitional year where children not only consolidate learning from Year 2 but also and establish the routines and expectations of Key Stage 2. They will be expected to take greater responsibility for their learning through engaging with personal targets and assessing how well they have achieved in each task they are set.
We take the responsibility of nurturing the ‘whole child’ seriously and to support them with this we have weekly lessons which focus on self-perception , values and ambitions.
The Teaching Assistants work with specific groups both in and out of class to provide additional support both for all abilities.
If you have any quick queries, please feel free to catch me at the start or end of the school day. However, if there is anything you wish to discuss at greater length, please do let me know and we can arrange a suitable time.
Year 3 is in Key Stage 2 and to see our timings each day click here:
The school day begins promptly at 8.40 and the gates are closed between 9:00am and 2.50pm. If you visit the school during these hours, please use buzzer entry by the gate to the side of the car park. By doing this we can ensure the children are in a safe environment during the school day. Should you need to collect your child for an appointment, please to come to the Office and sign your child out whilst a member of staff collects them from the classroom.
The school office is open between 8.30am until 3.40pm to assist you with any queries.
When collecting and dropping your child as school, punctuality is really important. Being late can result in causing distress to your child and interrupts their learning. Should there are repeated and/ or unexplained late collections you will be asked to meet with the Headteacher so that any issues can be resolved.
